LACKING LEADERS
To continue our focus on the 40 days fasting and prayer, I wish to mobilize us to pray for LEADERS. First, let me look at our national leaders, I think it is sad that we do not see many younger leaders leading our country. When we look at Australia and Singapore, we see younger leaders (in their 40s and 50s) forming the front-lines. Malaysia is still relying on leaders who are in their late 50s and 60s! Worst still, we do not see many good leaders in their 40s and 50s in the near horizon as well! We must pray for main and key leaders of our nation.
We can then look at the church scenario. There is also a lack of Pastors and good, mature leaders overall. Older pastors (in their 60s and 70s) have difficulties passing their churches to younger pastors, for various reasons. Most pastors are working “independently”’ with minimal closeness and unity among ourselves. The overall picture of churches in Malaysia could be better. Pray for our church leaders.
Through our prayers, God’s heart can be moved. This prayer for our nation and for churches is in line with God’s desire – to have good leaders, good governance and good discipleship. We can be very confident that God will hear us.
